Why did we invest in Serbia?

One of the key activites of USAID Sustainable Local Development Project was preparation of FDI success stories brochure, which was done in cooperation with Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), Vojvodina Investment Promotion Agency, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and other partners. This broshure presents experience of one of the largest investors in Serbia about investing and doing business in Serbia, their advices and best practices.

USAID Sustainable Local Development Project is a five-year project supporting local governments, businesses and civil society to increase their efficiency and achieve economies of scale through Inter-Municipal Cooperation (IMC) aimed at accelerating economic growth. The Program’s primary focus was on efficiency-seeking Greenfield investments (primarily manufacturing) in partner with 32 local governments. Activities were focused on improving local investment climate, increasing the availability of market-ready properties-sites, and improving the quality of services of local investment promotion professionals. In addition, the Program helped Local Economic Development Offices to learn and implement practical methods for promoting and attracting investment. The program comprised of various activities such as workshops, a study tours, promotion of Serbia’s investment potentials in EU countries, an ongoing consulting support such as developing conceptual design for industrial locations in selected municipalities, brochures etc.
