Europe Attractiveness Survey 2016

According to the EY Europe Attractiveness Survey 2016, published beginning of June, Serbia is a one of the Top 10 countries by FDI job creation. Also, with + 108% of percentage change, Serbia is the second economy in terms of growth of FDI job creation.

                     

Due to the same source, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) saw the creation of 50% of all FDI jobs in Europe.

French – Serbian Business Conference

French Agency Business France in cooperation with the Development Agency of Serbia and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce is organizing a conference and B2B meetings of French and Serbian companies, "French - Serbian Business Conference and Seminar", which will be held on  September 15, 2016, in Paris, France.

The event is focused on the sectors of agriculture, automotive and ICT, as well as on energy and environmental protection. Through presentation of Serbian companies and advantages of Serbia, it will provide for Serbia the opportunity to promote itself as an investment destination, and further intensify mutual cooperation.

France is one of the leading world economies, which in addition to the traditional friendship with Serbia, has an intensive economic cooperation. Exports of the Republic of Serbia to France from 2009 to the present day have doubled, and France has become one of the 10 countries to which Serbia exported the most. In addition, France is one of the 10 countries the biggest investors in the Republic of Serbia.

BAT Opened New Production Plant in Serbia

One of the world’s leading tobacco companies, and one of the largest British investors in Serbia, the British American Tobacco (BAT), officially opened new production plant in Vranje in mid May 2016.

With EUR 5 million worth investment, BAT increased its capacities by 40% and became a CEFTA member countries’ production center.

 

Continental expands its production in Subotica

The foundation stone for the new production plant of the "Continental" factory was laid on June 10, in Subotica. €17 million worth investment will employ another 500 workers of various professions.

Continental has been operating in Serbia since 2011 and employs 600 workers at the factory of components for the automotive and trucking industry in the Business Zone Mali Bajmok.
