Serbia Day in Paris

Business Conference "Serbia Day" was held on September 15, in Paris aiming to present the economic and investment potentials of Serbia. Organizer of the event was Business France in cooperation with the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS), Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) and the French-Serbian Chamber of Commerce. Conference focused on agriculture, automotive and ICT industries as well as energy and environmental protection. 

Serbian delegation was led by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic, Vladimir Tomic from RAS, and President of PKS Marko Cadez. In addition, the event was attended by the Ambassador of France to Serbia Christine Moro, Deputy Director General of the Business France Frederik Rossi, director of the EBRD Daniel Berg, as well as many influential businessmen from both countries.

Opening session was followed by four round tables, one for each of the selected sectors, on which the RAS (automotive, food industry) and PKS (ICT, energy) presented the potentials of the sector, while representatives of some French companies that already operate in Serbia shared their impressions and examples of good practice in Serbia.

France is one of the major world economies, which in addition to the traditional friendship, has an intensive economic cooperation with Serbia. Exports of the Republic of Serbia to France from 2009 to the present day have doubled, while France reached the 10th position on the list of countries to which Serbia exported. In addition, France is one of the 10 countries the biggest investors in the Republic of Serbia.

Investment Conference - "Serbian Furniture Industry" will be held on November 8th at 12h, at the Belgrade Furniture Fair. Main goals of the conference are to promote Serbian furniture industry, investment potentials, and cooperation opportunities. Tecnostrutture Opens Facility in Zrenjanin

Italian company Tecnostrutture opened production facility on September 17, in the Southeast Ecka industrial zone in Zrenjanin.

The opening ceremony was attended by the ambassador of Italy to Serbia, Mr. Giuseppe Manzo, the president of the Italian province of Abruzzo, the mayor of the city of Francavilla al Mare, Mr. Antonio Luciani, the Minister of economy at the Government of Serbia, Mr. Goran Knezevic, the deputy provincial secretary for economy and tourism, Mr.Pavle Pocuc, and the mayor of Zrenjanin, Mr.Cedomir Janjic.

The company  will produce steel structures for building bridges, airports, stadiums, large shopping malls and industrial facilities. The value of the investment is EUR 3.5 million, and most of the production in Zrenjanin will be exported.

Tecnostrutture is a member of Edil Steel, a leader in the steel structure sector in the international market.

 

Tibet Moda Opened Factory in Cuprija

Turkish company Tibet Moda  opened its textile factory in Serbia at the ceremony in Cuprija on October 2nd.

The value of the project is around EUR 1 million, and the agreement on the lease of the hall and the administrative building of the former Mladost printing factory was signed in early August between the municipality of Cuprija and Tibet Moda. As announed at the ceremony, the plan is to employ 250 workers in the first year, to reach the number of 600 employees in the second year and to have a total of 1,000 workers in the third year.

The facility was opened in presence of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, Ambassador of Turkey to Belgrade, Mehmet Kemal Bozay owners of Tibet Moda, Burak Galip Akkurt and Melih Tengul, president of the municipality of Cuprija, Ninoslav Eric, and other distinguished guests.

 

Dorin Kindersley to Publish Serbia Travel Guide

British multinational publishing company Dorin Kindersley (DK), known for tourist guides, is expected to publish a book on Serbia, which will have 320 photos,15 maps and 10 illustrations.

The new edition in their edition of "Eyewitness Travel Guide" will include the biggest attractions and landmarks Serbia, from the monastery Manasija, across the Temple of Saint Sava, Kalemegdan fortress and the National Park Tara, to the Guca Festival.

"Explore one of Europe's best kept secrets, from the stunning Manasija monastery, St. Sava's Cathedral, and Kalemegdan Fortress to Tara National Park and the lively Dragacevo Folk Festival. Guide with many 3D illustrations, the section "Do not Miss" and maps will be published on October 18th.
