 Michelin Group expands in Serbia - Tigar Tyres opened new plant in Pirot   

"Michelin Group" and its company in Serbia - "Tigar Tyres" officially opened the new drive roller plant thus increasing production capacity of the factory in Free Zone Pirot to a total area od 21,815 m2. Investment project is worth 215 million euros, initiated in 2013, and Pirot`s plant will produce the components necessary for the production of cars, light and other tires that Tigar Tyres has to offer. With this new investment, Tigar Tyres has increased its production to as much as 12 million passenger tires a year, out of which 90% will be exported and employed 500 more people, while the number of employees grew to a 3,000.

The latest technology was applied which significantly improves the process of production, maintenance, planning and quality management.

“This project illustrates the trust that "Michelin Group" has at a factory in Serbia, through the opening of a new roller, and the sustainable development of our company in Pirot. This is indeed a significant step for our long-term development here in Pirot and Serbia, which ensures greater competitiveness and better service to our customers through an expanded portfolio of products, better quality and greater security of our tires” - said Erik Feidi, President of the company "Michelin" for central and Southeastern Europe.

“The new drive roller is the last phase of the multi-year investment cycle and its most technologically advanced part. This line is an example of modern technology at a facility that enables us to focus on the needs of the market and to ensure current as well as future customers. The professionalism and dedication of our team have contributed to the fact that the project is completed on time and within budget” - said Gary Seidel, Director of "Tigar Tyres".

 

                                   

Serbia is again the largest producer of raspberries in the world!

In the latest official report of the Internationl Raspberries Organization (IRO) Serbia regained its position as the leading producer of raspberies in the World. With 79,000 tons produced in 2015, Serbia is back to 1st place in front of USA, Poland and Chile. Since 2006. when Serbia was the largest producer with 90,000 tons of raspberies produced that year, Serbia was always ranked in the top 3 raspberries producers in the world. Serbian raspberry output in 2015 is estimated at 79,000 tonnes, 9,000 tonnes of which for fresh sale and the rest for processing. The largest commodity production in the world, for years, realized in Serbia for more than 95% of fresh and processed fruits raspberries sold in the world market.

IRO was founded in 1998, brings together 12 countries that hold 85% of world production. World Raspberry Production (tonnes). This year Serbia will hold 10th IRO Member Meeting, which will take place on 09-10th May in Sabac.

Magna Seating to expand in 2016 in Serbia

The Canadian company "Magna Seating" which invested in the production plant in Odzaci, Serbia in 2013, is planning to expand its production capacity and employ five hundred more workers. Representatives of "Magna" are extremely satisfied with business environment in Municipality of Odzaci, where they have a facility for the production of upholister for automobile industry and are currently employing 900 workers.

More than four million vehicles world famous brands such as "Renault", "Smart", "Ford", "Audi" are equipped with the products of the company so that the market expansion drive initiated in Odzaci.

Driven by the fact that this factory is supplying more than four million vehicles of famous world brands such as: "Renault", "Smart", "Ford", "Audi", company is initiated expension of plant in Odzaci.

Investment will be worth of 7 million eur as said by Mr.Dieter Althaus, Vice President of the office of "Magna" for Europe.

 

SERBIA at PLMA 2016

Serbia will for the 5th time present its products and services at one of the worlds largest private label show PLMA in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from May 28th to 29th 2016.

This year eight companies will exhibit at National stand of Serbia in Europa Plaza Hall, Stand No. from 3612 to 3642: Esensa, Frigo Paun, ITN, Master Frigo, PFI, Venac, Nectar and Belina.

National pavilion is organized jointly by Development Agency of Serbia and Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
