The new 3,100-square-metre hall is equipped with modern production equipment, while the company plans further expansion and new hiring

BELGRADE/Barajevo, September 25, 2026 - Slovenian company Kolektor Etra has opened a new production hall in Barajevo, further expanding its capacity for manufacturing power transformers and continuing its investment in the development of its operations in Serbia.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the company and the Kolektor Group, as well as representatives of the Serbian Development Agency. The ceremony was addressed by Simon Palfi, Managing Director of Kolektor Etra Beograd, Peter Novak, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Stojan Petrič, President of the Kolektor Group, and Vladimir Tomić, Director of the Strategic Investments Sector at the Serbian Development Agency.

The new investment is part of a broader investment cycle by Kolektor Etra in production capacity in Serbia. The company invested €7.5 million in a high-voltage laboratory, which opened in 2024, while an additional €14 million was invested in the new production hall. The total value of Kolektor Etra's investments in its factory in Serbia has thus reached €21.5 million.

The new hall covers 3,100 square metres and is equipped with two new ovens for drying transformer windings and active parts, as well as an industrial crane with a lifting capacity of 70 tonnes. The company says the expansion of production capacity provides a foundation for further growth and new business opportunities.

Kolektor Etra Beograd manufactures power transformers of up to 40 MVA and 110 kV, with part of its production exported to Western and Northern European markets. Its key export markets include Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands, Norway and France, while the company is also beginning to enter the Swiss market.

According to company management, Kolektor Etra plans to further increase production in the coming years. By 2028, a new coil winding facility is expected to be built in Barajevo, potentially increasing annual production capacity to more than 200 power transformers.

The company also plans to further increase production and revenues by 2030, with around 50 additional employees expected to be hired. This would bring the number of employees at the factory to approximately 230.

Kolektor Etra Beograd is part of the Slovenian Kolektor Group, and the Barajevo plant plays an important role in the production of power transformers for the European market. Last year, the company generated more than €24 million in revenue.
