RAS SIGNS MOUs WITH EGYPT ON STRENGTHENING BILATERAL & INVESTMENT RELATIONS AND SME SUPPORT

The Development Agency of Serbia signed two Memorandums of Understanding during the official visit of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the ceremony of the two Governments - a Memorandum on strengthening bilateral and investment relations and a Memorandum of Understanding regarding cooperation in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

During the official visit to the Republic of Serbia by the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, several bilateral agreements, and memoranda of understanding (MOU) were signed.

Director of the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) Radoš Gazdić and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry signed an MOU on cooperation between the RAS and the Free Zones Administration regarding strengthening bilateral and investment relations.

The Development Agency of Serbia and the Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises of the Arab Republic of Egypt also signed an MOU regarding cooperation in projects and activities supporting the SME sector. The memorandum was signed by Director RAS Radoš Gazdić and Minister of Trade and Industry of the Arab Republic of Egypt Nevin Gamea.

The President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said at the press conference that he is honored to be in Serbia for the first time and thanked for the hospitality.

The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić said that it is a great honor to host the Egyptian President after almost four decades. During the multi-day visit, different topics will be discussed, mainly focusing on strengthening cooperation, investments, and trade between the two countries. 

"I am convinced that our conversations today provided a strong impulse that will be visible in the international arena and the most specific economic areas and numerous projects we will work on together," said President Vučić.

The Serbia-Egypt Business Forum was also held today in the Palace of Serbia. The keynote speakers were the two Presidents, and the moderator of the event was the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Marko Čadež. Moreover, the Development Agency of Serbia participated in the Forum and gave an overview of the investment climate and investment potentials of Serbia in a specific presentation "Why Invest in Serbia", and the Federation of Egyptian, African and Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce held the presentation “Doing business with Egypt”.
