Wacker Neuson opens factory in Serbia

The German manufacturer of light and compact construction equipment and machinery Wacker Neuson, officially put into operation a new production hall in Kragujeva, Serbia

 

After sixteen years of operating in Serbia, the German company Wacker Neuson held an Opening Ceremony for its first greenfield investment. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, German Ambassador to Serbia Anke Konrad, as well as Mayor of the City of Kragujevac  Nikola Dašić, and the representatives of the Development Agency of Serbia.

In the first phase, the German company invested over 25 million euros for the construction of 20,000 square meters of production space and equipment, while in the next phase, which began in mid-April, an additional 30,000 square meters will be built.

Equipped with state-of-the-art production and automation technologies, a new production facility for steel components will be able to respond more efficiently to the requirements of the global market.

Felix Bietenbeck, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Technology Officer of the Wacker Neuson Group Executive Board said at the ceremony that after the planned expansion, one of the largest factories within the Group will be in Serbia.

"With nearly 40 welding robots, a fully automated warehouse and a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient painting process for steel structures, this factory will be focused on quality, modern technologies, and high automation," Bittenbeck added.
