Leoni opened another plant in Serbia

On November 18, German investor Leoni opened in Doljevac factory for production of cable systems for passenger cars. The factory in Doljevac, in addition to two in Prokuplje, is the third investment by Leoni in Serbia. So far, Leoni invested over €36 million in Serbia and currently employs 4,950 workers.

The factory in Doljevac covers an area of 25,000 sqm, the total investment is more than €21 million and will employ 1,700 workers. Construction of the plant began in August 2013, while the trial production strated in April 2014.

Leoni is present in Serbia since 2009 and was one of the first major investments of German companies in the automotive industry.

Leoni AG is a global leader in the production of cable installations for the automotive industry. The company in 2014 employed about 68,000 workers in 32 countries, had a turnover of €4.1 billion and a net profit of €115.1 million. Leoni AG was founded in 1917 and has headquarters in Nuremberg.

Plant opening was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, as well as German Ambassador, H.E. Axel Ditman.
