National Museum in Belgrade and Media center Odbrana are organizing big exhibition dedicated to thefamous Serbian artist Nadezda Petrovic.
Seventy-three paintings from the collection of the National Museum, which is only a quarter of a total number of works by one of the founders of modern art in Serbia, is enough to give you a wide insight into the rich opus created between 1898 and 1913. In the same time, this is an excellent overview of art trends in secession, symbolism, expressionism, impressionism and fauvism in Serbia and the world.
Besides being a talented painter, Nadezda Petrovic was active participant of European art scene and a versatile personality. She was also art teacher in the Higher female school, founder of numerous art events, an avid art critic, photographer, playwright and one of the founders of a female charity organization Circle of Serbian Sisters, a member of a Lada Art Society, and many more.

Mapping of Identity

To celebrate its birthday, Museum of Applied Art presents exhibition " Mapping of Identity - Belgrade Architecture 1919-2015" that is on display until January 31, 2016.
Exhibition is dedicated to the architecture of Belgrade and may also be understood as a specific inscription of "biography of Belgrade", that is, mapping and marking its architecture and architectural culture. The aim of the author Ljiljana Miletić Abramović was to offer a synthetic view of Belgrade, thus of Serbian, architecture created between 1919 and 2015.
There are over 120 objects on panels presented, and as many in electronic form. The exclusive contribution to the visual and aesthetic aspect of the exhibition, its presentation, are ten prints of authentic drawings in original dimensions, as well as original models of three anthological examples of the interwar period of modern architecture.
A special segment of the exhibition documents events, occurrences and people who directly or indirectly influenced or have been connected to the architecture in this long period of time. Additionally, visitors can see a big plan of Belgrade with marked locations of important objects and interview with architects, 28 of them, who all have been trying to answer one question - What is Architecture?

Le Corbusier

The Museum of Applied Arts has organized exhibition, in collaboration with Le Corbusier Foundation, in honor to an outstanding architect, artist and creator, Le Corbusier, who left an indelible mark on the 20th century architecture and made his further progress possible. The exhibition features as many as 50 photographs of architectural works and 30 reproductions of Le Corbusier’s paintings.
Le Corbusier was an extraordinary personality of his time. As an author, his special vision of architecture and personal experience in the consideration of human needs and characteristics, the new organization of utilization of working and living space, marked the architecture of 20th century.
The exhibition is on display in the Museum of Applied Arts until January 9, 2016 and it is part of the supporting program of exhibition "Mapping of Identity - Belgrade Architecture 1919-2015".
