BEIJING, June 22, 2026 – The Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) participated in the economic forum “Linking with Shandong”, held as part of the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), one of the most significant international events dedicated to supply chains and global economic cooperation.

The forum was organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Shandong Sub-council (CCPIT Shandong) and brought together representatives of government institutions, business organisations and companies from China and partner countries, with the aim of enhancing trade and investment cooperation.

The participants were addressed by Wen Nuan, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, and Nie Wenhui, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), as well as H.E. Maja Stefanović, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the People’s Republic of China, who highlighted the importance of developing economic relations between Serbia and China and further strengthening cooperation with Shandong Province.

During the forum, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) and CCPIT Shandong, signed in February 2026, was formally exchanged. The Memorandum provides a framework for further strengthening institutional cooperation, exchanging information, connecting business entities and jointly promoting investment and business opportunities.

On behalf of the Development Agency of Serbia, Predrag Deretić presented Serbia’s investment potential, business environment, available investment incentives and opportunities for developing new partnerships with Chinese companies. The presentation highlighted Serbia’s competitive advantages as an investment destination, including its strategic geographical position, extensive network of free trade agreements and favourable business environment for international investors.

Following the conference, bilateral meetings were held with representatives of companies from Shandong Province, during which opportunities for new investment projects, business partnerships and the further intensification of economic cooperation between Serbia and China were discussed.

Participation in the forum represents a continuation of the Development Agency of Serbia’s activities aimed at promoting Serbia as an attractive investment destination and strengthening economic ties with the People’s Republic of China. Cooperation with Shandong Province, one of China’s most developed economic regions, contributes to creating new opportunities for attracting investments, enhancing trade exchange and connecting companies from the two countries.
