US-based Adient breaks ground for factory in Serbia - 1.500 new jobs

A global leader in automotive seating „Adient“ started the construction of a factory in Loznica on May 30, 2019. This investment project will bring 1.500 new jobs in Serbia by the end of 2020.

US automotive seating manufacturer “Adient” has launched the construction of a $20 million (18 million euro) factory in Serbia's western municipality of Loznica.

On the groundbreaking ceremony, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said that the project will improve the quality of life of 1.500 families in Loznica and will allow the local government to invest more in infrastructure through higher revenue from income tax.

Vice president of the “Adient” unit for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mr. Vladimir Teplik emphasized that “Adient” has around 85.000 employees in 238 production plants and in 34 countries, and that is producing 25 million car seats per year.

Teplik added that Serbia was chosen among eighth other countries for this investment because it has a “friendly and qualified workforce” and moreover Serbia is a leader in developing infrastructure and in doing business and cooperating with investors.

“Adient” is a global leader in the production of automotive seating, instrument panels, cockpits, door panels, floor consoles, and overhead systems present in 34 countries around the world.
