German’s Continental opens Center for Research and Development in Novi Sad

NOVI SAD – 7. March, 2018. - The German company Continental opened the Center for Research and Development in Novi Sad today, and, as said at the opening, two business units will develop systems of electronic control of vehicle interiors and electronic control of vehicle safety.

The company has already hired 100 engineers for high-tech projects and product development in Novi Sad, it was said at the opening.

The plan is for Continental to employ 500 workers in Novi Sad in the upcoming years, primarily on software and system engineering jobs, and their gross salary will amount to around EUR 2,000, it was said at the opening.

Sasa Cioringa, General Manager of Continental in Serbia, said that the company was looking for experienced engineers and young IT students and graduates in Novi Sad.

Continental was founded in 1871 in Hanover and is now one of the leading automotive companies globally, with 230,000 employees in 56 countries. According to preliminary data, the company realized sales of around EUR 44 billion in 2017.

The business unit whose center is located in Novi Sad deals with information management in vehicles and beyond. Its production portfolio includes groups of instruments, control units, tire information access systems, radio devices, data input devices, control panels, software.
