One of the leading manufacturers of high-precision gears for engine and transmission applications, Koepfer Group opens today a new production plant in the City of Smederevo.

Koepfer has been present in Serbia since 2019, operating in the brownfield facility. The production site in Serbia manufactures gear parts and gear components for vehicles.  

The new production site is a greenfield project of 2.600 m ², which is the first phase out of four that the company intends to build in Smederevo, within the Industrial Zone. The plan is to construct four facilities of a total of 10.400 m² and gradually employ up to 250 workers. In the current plant, 50 new jobs will be created.

Company’s representatives and CEO Thomas Koepfer, Minister of Economy Andjelka Atanasković, local government, and representatives of the Development Agency of Serbia attended the Opening Ceremony in Smederevo.

Koepfer Group manufactures a wide range of automobile products ranging from gears, sprockets, transmission components, assemblies, and rims. The company was founded in 1867, and it’s based in Furtwangen, Germany. Has three production sites in Germany, one in China, and one in Serbia.
