Memorandum of Understanding signed between Development Agency of Serbia and the Chinese Province of Liaoning to strengthen economic ties
Belgrade, January 18, 2024 - Nikola Janković, Director of the Sector for International Cooperation of the Development Agency of Serbia, and Pan Shuang, Director of the Department of Commerce of the Chinese Province of Liaoning, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the aim of establishing concrete collaboration between Serbia and one of China's principal industrial provinces.
The economic and trade delegation from Liaoning was led by Li Lecheng, the governor of the province, who expressed readiness to further enhance cooperation between Liaoning and Serbia in all areas, especially in trade and economic collaboration, during the visit. The governor emphasized that the signing of the Memorandum of understanding expands and strengthens economic and trade cooperation while also solidifying the friendly relations between the two countries.
The ten-member Chinese delegation included Feng Shoukuan, the Secretary-General of the Liaoning Provincial Government, Li Pengiu, the Director of Liaoning Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Pan Shuang, the Director of Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce, Luo Li, the Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Provincial Government, Zhou Zhou, a Member of the Standing Committee of Shenyang Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor, Guo Yunfeng, Deputy Secretary of Liaoyang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Chen Yang, Deputy Director and Translator, Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce.
The signing ceremony of the MoU, held at the offices of the Development Agency of Serbia, was attended by Radoš Gazdić, Director of the Development Agency, Li Ming, Ambassador of China to Serbia, Nikola Janković, Director of the Sector for International Cooperation, Jelena Cvijanović, Director of the Sector for the Support of SMEs, Predrag Deretić, Investment Senior Advisor, Ana Žegarac, International Cooperation Senior Advisor, and Anđelka Soskić, International Cooperation Associate.
Director Radoš Gazdić emphasized a deep commitment to redirecting the collaboration between the two countries towards the province of Liaoning. Gazdić highlighted the significance of the ongoing collaboration with China, emphasized that Serbia puts great importance to further strengthening the strategic partnership, and expressed satisfaction that the good cooperation with the People's Republic of China continues through collaboration with its provinces.
During the meeting, a visit of the Serbian delegation to the provincial capital of Liaoning, Shenyang, was also agreed upon.
Liaoning, a province in northeastern China, stands out with its industrial strength, rich heritage, and openness to international cooperation.
