By the Decision on the Establishment of the business entity “BIO4” d.o.o. Belgrade (“Official Gazette of RS”, No. 54/23), the Government has established a limited liability company tasked with managing the BIO4 Campus Project. This Project aims to establish BIO4 Campus as a research and development center, serving as a convergence point for science and technology with industry, primarily in the fields of biomedicine, biotechnology, bioengineering, application of artificial intelligence in medicine and agriculture, environmental protection, and biodiversity conservation.
BIO4 Campus will be a unique complex housing at least nine scientific institutes, seven faculties, the NTP Belgrade extension for BIO4 startups, seven centers with exceptional scientific-research infrastructure (core facilities), accommodations for students and visiting researchers, a congress center, a multimedia science exhibition center, manufacturing facilities, and other amenities. Alongside these facilities, BIO4 Campus will feature dedicated spaces for research, development, and application of high-tech products by pharmaceutical, biomedical, and biotechnology companies.
Faculties of the University of Belgrade
The BIO4 Campus will fully accommodate the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Biology of the University of Belgrade, while the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Chemistry, Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of this university will have their relevant organizational units within the BIO4 Campus.
Scientific Institutes
The scientific institutes that will be fully housed in the BIO4 Campus include the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Institute of Medical Research, Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy, and Institute of Chemistry, Technology, and Metallurgy. Additionally, the Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”, Biosens Institute, and Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases “Dedinje” will have their respective organizational units within the BIO4 Campus.
It is expected that BIO4 Campus will host more than 1,500 researchers, including over 1,000 PhD holders. Additionally, more than 4,000 students are expected to study at BIO4 Campus.
Core Facilities
BIO4 Campus will feature core facilities with state-of-the-art equipment and laboratories available to scientific institutes, faculties, startups, and companies residing in the campus, including:
In addition to these, BIO4 Campus will have over 300 laboratories available to residents and partners of the campus.
The subject of this public call is to gather letters of interest from domestic and foreign legal entities interested in renting office and laboratory space within the BIO4 Campus, with the aim of negotiating lease agreements with them.
Letters of interest should include specifications regarding the required size of office and laboratory space, as well as any specific requirements necessary for conducting activities. Companies submitting letters of interest for leasing more than 3,000 square meters of space will be invited for consultations regarding potential construction of a dedicated facility to meet their needs.
A letter of interest submitted in accordance with this public call does not constitute, nor can it be considered, a contract, nor does it create any rights or obligations for the company or BIO4 d.o.o. Belgrade.
This public call is intended for legal entities, whether local or part of a related foreign legal entity, engaged in research and development in areas compatible with the activities defined in the introductory remarks of this call.

Companies submitting incomplete applications will be informed about necessary supplements.
All information provided in the application and accompanying documentation will be treated as confidential, except for data that is otherwise publicly available.
Applications will be evaluated based on the order of submission as well as the following criteria: the nature of the business, past research and development achievements, development plans, value of intellectual property, market potential of technologies and products to be developed, potential for research and development collaboration with other tenants of the BIO4 Campus, and the potential impact of the legal entity on the development of the BIO4 ecosystem.
BIO4 d.o.o. Beograd will establish a committee to review the applications. Companies that the committee determines will contribute to the development of the Campus and the BIO4 ecosystem through their activities will be invited for further consultations aimed at establishing business and technical cooperation and signing lease agreements.
BIO4 d.o.o. Beograd will treat received information as confidential, safeguarding it except where such information is publicly available.
