Gruner, a components manufacturer for the electrical and automotive industry, opens a new production plant in the south of Serbia, in the town of Vlasotince.

The company employs close to 750 people, and just in the last project invested over 23 million euros.

Management of the Gruner along with the President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, H.E. Ambassador of Germany to Serbia Anke Konrad, and other officials, has officially opened the factory in Vlasotince. With this new production facility, Gruner has expanded its production capacities from 7.000 m² to about 11.500 m². 

German investor is present in Serbia since 2007. Since then, the company has expanded 3 more times, and today employs 750 workers and produces 100.000 relays monthly in the Vlasotince plant. With this new, fourth-in-a-row production plant, Gruner will bring 200 additional jobs. 

Gruner is also actively collaborating with the Technical School in the town of Vlasotince within the dual education program, mostly training industrial mechanics, mechatronics, electricians, and CNC operators. 

CEO Martin Schpreizer said he is proud of the project in Serbia, which is Gruner’s youngest division in the world, but from now on become the leading factory. 

“We have started with 30 employees, and in the opening of the new plant, we have invested €23.1 million. We are leaders in technology and set standards that will be demanded in the industry. From now on, "Gruner Serbia" will be our leading production plant of injection molds and mechatronic systems”, says Schpreizer. 

“The key to success is people. We value people who take steps and responsibility. We are partners in dual education with the Technical School in Vlasotince. Being partners, we benefit both Gruner and Vlasotince. We offer a great perspective to young people," Schpreizer emphasized.

President Aleksandar Vučić stressed that Serbia appreciated the ​​investments from Germany and considers this country a key economic partner to Serbia. He said that he is proud of the fact that the trade exchange with Germany this year will reach 7.2 billion euros.

"I am happy to be here in Gruner for the third time and we have good news every time. This factory is important for the Jablanički district, the south of Serbia, and the entire country. Dual education is what makes you viable and what makes you progress. These things changed people’s lives and make life easier here. When people have a job and can stay in Vlasotince, that is the progress of Serbia ", said the President.
